Whats happened to the Wed night rides? Is there a TT season still going on i didnt know about? Everyone dying to get back to watch Champions League games?

In the last 2 years there was a sensible breaking up the group into smaller ones if loads of riders out, with a fast, medium, slow etc.

The current chaos has people bombing off (its not a race!!) or waiting for others; no chance to warm up; no proper rotating (or maybe understanding about what should be going on); and more importantly creating danger because the pace is chopping and changing so fast, which probably contributed to Ellie coming off tonight (is she ok?). Also some were overtaking on inside!?! Just bloody dangerous

I think there needs to be a clear lead taken when we convene, as previous years. Its difficult to find a happy medium, and maybe Im over reacting, but the contrast is enormous.

Well, what can we say? 5 races, 5 wins, not including the juniors/veterans/women, which neither of us qualified as.

Mark quotes: 'I hope they get my name right in the echo this time'
As for me, I reckon the distance race is considerably harder that the other four and I refuse to comment on being beaten in the points race by a 14yr old.

Thanks for the excellent response so far, nearly 80 of us will be attending, so anyone still unsure of whether to come or not, most of the club will be there plus the fact we have a big name speaker this year all means it should be a good do.

Could I ask (to save me a bit of work on the night) anyone who is coming to please if possible square up with me at the AGM this Friday coming. I will be there, possibly a bit late but will get get there. I mean to pay in full or your balance and to let me know what food you want.

More Track sessions with Prime Coaching

Prime Coaching are again holding a series of track training sessions at
Calshot Velodrome on Saturday afternoons on the 17th October and 21st
November 2009, and on the 16th January, 20th February and 20th March 2010.

The cost is 15 for adults 7 for youths.

Riding Tandoms at Calshot

For the Children in Need 24hr Marathon in November, The BBC want to put a presenter on the track for a live broadcast.He has not ridden on the track before so i thought a tandem would be the best and safest option. Does anybody know if it is possible to ride one of these at Calshot?

The AGM is Friday week - 6th November - at the Coach and Horses, Wimborne.

It will start at 7pm and should not last more than an hour.

Following the AGM there will be a buffet, then skittles.

The buffet will cost 6 - to be paid on the night.

Please let me know by the weekend, but preferably before, if you are coming, so we can arrange how many to cater for.

Club Run 1st November

The first club run is planned for Sunday 1st November 0830 departe, a loop out from Broadstone out to Bulbarrow and back about 50 miles.

Mark Dobbs the Club Run guru is not available to lead this one, anyone want to take on that role ??

If you are thinking about joining this ride please add your interest in this thread to give the club an idea of how many riders may be turning out.

Hi, have been looking for a group to cycle with and have been looking at your pictures.
I'm wondering if you are all real serious cyclists, I have a few miles under my belt and enjoy cycling but am not into serious racing etc.
Would this be the group for me?
